A proud graduate of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia she has a thorough marketing background of over 12 years covering sales, event planning, local store marketing, advertising and now social media. Mandy provides social media marketing, advertising, consulting and training to businesses all over the globe.  In the fall you can find her along with her family at Sanford Stadium cheering on their beloved Georgia Bulldogs. Do you recommend that your clients "stick to business" on social media or is it OK to include some commentary about news and current events?

I think it's okay to go outside of busienss as long as it's relevant to their business, their customers or what's going on in the world at that moment.

My go-to tool is Sprout Social for everything (management, engagement, reporting, etc.) except Pinterest. For that I use TailWind.

What's the best justification to use social media for a business manager who says s/he just doesn't have time?

Social media is now how you reach people. Yes, it takes time, but if you aren't reaching your customers there, your competition is. With satellite radio, news on the web, Netflix, Roku, Apple TV – people are no longer on the traditional channels you could reach them on 10-15 years ago.

I have a real estate/property management company out of Atlanta that is doing really well on Pinterest, especially using Promoted Pins. They are seeing tremendous growth in traffic to their website because of Pinterest.
